Lisbon, Portugal

FiveStar took time last week to get better acquainted with Lisbon, Portugal and see what it could offer our clients. And let me tell you, it exceeded our every expectation!

I know it’s easy to look at what we relay to you and think it’s all fun and games. Now, I’ll admit it’s enjoyable, but it’s a lot of work too. Our objective, when we travel is to build relationships with properties, conduct site visits, source venues, develop partnerships with destination management contacts, and experience what the location has to offer. We work hard to experience things through the eyes of our clients. We want you’re program to be memorable, a milestone for your company. The way you experience an international meeting or incentive with FiveStar will be much more than just an annual meeting, it’ll exceed expectations and be something you talk about for years to come.

Here’s a taste of what the trip consisted of:

Lodging:
We stayed at two locations but conducted site tours to half a dozen properties. Additionally, I spent one day exclusively developing business contacts in one-on-one meetings. I’m confident that whatever you’re needs are in Portugal, we’ll have the perfect place for you.

The first few nights were spent at Pestana Palace. And a palace it was! The service was superb, and space is fit for a king. The Palace has an extensive botanical garden to enjoy. We took breakfast and coffee out on the terrace each day in the cool mornings and evenings. Time seemed to stand still, which was okay with me.

The other half of our stay was at the Hotel Epic Sana, a complete change from our earlier property, but no less impressive. The Epic Sana has all the luxury and sophistication for the trendy tech lover. Their rooftop pool with views of the city was especially stunning. When the week drew to a close I was sad to leave after indulging in such a luxurious atmosphere.

On our final day in the city, I arranged to visit another property that I thought would be of special interest to our clients. Just outside of Lisbon in the city of Cascais I was astounded at every turn with what the Farol Hotel had to offer. A member of Design Hotels, this intimate boutique property immerses you in a dream world. Truly something you should experience first hand.

We familiarized ourselves with many more properties over the course of the stay. I was continually noting that Portugal has impeccable service and does not disappoint in their standard of lodging, and willingness to make your stay as perfect as possible. On top of that would you believe that Portugal is currently the least expensive European country to visit, and it happens to be the closest as well? Well now, what could possibly stop you from venturing out with us?

Adventures and Impressions of the area:

The Lisbon area landscape is dotted with many castles, palaces, fortresses, and amazing museums. Many of which we toured and explored their capabilities to host your private functions. Wouldn’t that make a memorable program!

The city itself is extremely walking friendly, though if you prefer, it’s easy to get around by way of electric trams, tuk-tuks, VW bugs, motor coach, and even speed boat.
Markets and town squares are consistently bustling with excitement. And let’s not forget to mention the delicious local flavor of the food!

Portugal is nothing short of magical; perhaps it’s the water or something in the air. Whatever it is, I can’t sing its praises enough. The people are eager to welcome you and are never short on kindness. I really could go on and on about what a perfect place it is for your upcoming programs and vacation. In the short time, I spent there it left quite an impression on me, and I know it will for you too.
